The Yamaha Diversion Club

Meet the Managers

Just in case you were wondering who the Management of The Yamaha Diversion Club are, this is us!

Although we are involved in the day to day maintenance of the website and membership, we never forget that the Club's members are its most important assets, and they make it the great club it is today.

Manager - Jenni Hamblett (Doofer)

Hi, I'm Jenni Hamblett, I live with my Son Ciaran(Small Satan) who regularly rides pillion on my bike. I've been riding for 17 years now, starting on a GS125.

After taking an 18 month break in 1993 to have my son I returned to to biking on a CB125 Superdream. By the time I came to take my test the restricted licence had been introduced so I took the Direct Access route and passed my test in 1996 on a P reg XJ600n. I don't drive, having never got around to taking lessons, so ride my bikes daily.

I am the proud owner of my second and third divvies, the first being a red (yes it was the faster one) 1991 XJ600s which I used for my daily 60 mile commute to university. My current pride and joys are a 1997 XJ600s in turquoise which I use daily for both work and pleasure and a grey 1993 XJ600s which sadly tends to get a little negelected as it is my backup bike incase the newer one lets me down.

At 5'1" I am one of the shorter riders, but so long as I remember not to try to put my foot down in a pot hole I cope with the divvy well, although I have taken some measures to lower the seat height a little.

My 1997 XJ600s, I do love the colour, just that little bit different, but the colour is standard.

Manager - Paul Garner (Reaper)

This is Paul Garner selling raffle tickets at Wetton Mill

Paul rides a FJR 1300, he has owned a number of bikes including XJ900 and Fazer 1000. He is a fully fledged IAM rider and enjoys passing his skills onto others, although he does not have the time to commit by being an IAM observer.

He currently organises a number of the group runs with a group of friends, and helps out with the annual Derby run which had an astounding 67 bikes in 2005.

He certainly knows his way around bikes, running a workshop at the Derby run for a number of years and producing our very own set of workshop DVD’s for the 600 and 900. A recent project has been rebuilding 2 BMW's, which he says he is glad to see the back of.

Paul has been a member of YamahaDiversions for a long time now, being one of the first members to move over to the new site during our problems in June 2003

Run Co-ordinator - Mac Wheatman (ContourMac)

Mac also rides a FJR1300A this being the latest of many stretching back to his first moped in 1976.

He lives with his wife Debbie, who runs a FZ6, and their 3 sons John, Peter & Adam.

Mac has been a member since end of 2005 and is the organiser of our annual Normandy run and the Ostend Christmas Market Outing.

As Run Co-ordinator he is responsible for ensuring club runs are entered into the calendar and advertised on the discussion forum as the run approaches.

He also attempts to avoid date clashes where possible.

Anyone wishing to organise a run should first contact Mac to discuss prospective dates and details.

As an experienced run organiser Mac can also give advice on how to set up and organise a run however it should be noted that the responsibility for the management of runs is still the run organisers.
